Privacy policy
Your study data stays yours.
Last updated 22 October 2026. This policy covers the MauryIAS app for Android and iOS and the website mauryias.com. It is written to meet the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
The short version
- The app works without an account. Everything you do is stored on your phone.
- If you sign in, we keep one backup of that data so you can restore it on a new phone. Only you can read it.
- We do not sell data, show ads or use advertising trackers.
- You can delete your account and every record from inside the app, without emailing anyone.
Who we are
MauryIAS is operated by [Logicnest Analytics / Nitin Gupta], [address], India ("we"). For anything about your data write to support@mauryias.com. Our grievance officer under the DPDP Act is [name] at the same address; we answer within 7 days.
1. Data that stays on your phone
The app stores the following on your device and nowhere else, unless you turn on backup:
- Your profile: an alias you choose, the subjects you want to prioritise, how many attempts you have made, whether you have cleared Prelims or Mains, and an optional roll number. The roll number is never required and is never sent to us.
- Your study record: which questions you answered, right or wrong, how sure you were, how long you took; your review schedule; points, streaks and milestones; notes you save; reminders you set; study time the app measured and study time you logged yourself, including any test scores you typed.
- Your preferences: study mode, learning switches, recent searches, where you left off.
This data is used only to run the app for you: to decide what to show next, to measure your own progress and to remind you at times you chose. Deleting the app, or using Delete all data in the profile, removes all of it.
2. Data that leaves your phone
| What | Why | Where | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sign-in identity: a user id, your email address and name from Google or Apple, and sign-in times | To attach a backup to you and let you restore it | Firebase Authentication, a Google service | Until you delete your account |
| Backup: one copy of the on-device data in section 1 | To restore your progress on another phone | Cloud Firestore, a Google service, in the Mumbai region (asia-south1); encrypted in transit and at rest; readable only by your own account | Until you delete the backup or your account |
| Crash reports: a stack trace, device model, system version, app version and an installation id. No study data or identity is attached | To find and fix crashes | Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service | 90 days |
| Website early-access form: your email and, if you give it, your preparation stage | To tell you when a spot opens | Our mailing list | Until you unsubscribe, or 24 months |
| Purchases, when paid features exist: the store's transaction id, product and expiry. We never see card details | To unlock what you paid for | Google Play, the App Store and our billing provider | As long as the subscription record is needed |
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone, advertising identifier or browsing history. Google processes sign-in and crash data partly outside India under its own terms; your backup stays in India.
3. Consent and your rights
- Consent. Before the first backup the app shows a notice with the points in section 2 and asks you to agree. You can withdraw by deleting your account; the app keeps working offline.
- Access. Write to support@mauryias.com from the email you signed in with and we send your full backup as a file within 7 days. A Download my data button in the profile is coming.
- Correction. Edit your profile and notes in the app.
- Erasure. Delete account in the profile removes your backup, your sign-in record and everything on the device. It cannot be undone.
- Complaints. Write to the grievance officer above. If you are not satisfied you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
4. Age
MauryIAS is for people aged 18 and over. We ask you to confirm this before you create an account and we do not knowingly keep data about anyone younger. If you believe a child has created an account, tell us and we will delete it.
5. Security
Backups are protected by rules that let only the signed-in owner read or write them, with a size limit, and all traffic is encrypted. No system is perfectly safe; if a breach ever affects your data we will tell you and the Data Protection Board promptly, with what happened and what to do.
6. Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the app will show the new version and ask again where consent is needed. The date at the top always shows the current version.
